Far and wide: The slopes in the Hochoetz skiing resort!

A total of 34 km of runs, which are optimally prepared and awarded with Tyrol's slope seal of approval invite skiers and snowboarders to Hochoetz in Tyrol's Oetztal every single day. From the beginner to the advanced skier, from the little snow princess to the aspiring ski racer - there is a run for everyone. And there are also specially created and favored spaces for sun worshippers. With a far reaching view of the Oetztal and the Inntal, featuring unique white mountain majesties. And you can reach the next lodge which is only ever short ski away.

If you would like to get a better understanding of all the runs in the Hochoetz skiing resort, then download our run panorama as a pdf file. Subsequently, we want to describe - as far as it is possible with words and pictures - the most important runs in Hochoetz. The numbers relate thereby to the numbers on the panorama map!

No. 1 and no. 2: Brunnenkopf run

The upper station of the Brunnenkopf lift (4 person chair lift) is, at 2,200 m, the highest point in the Hochoetz skiing resort. South of the upper station you can access the run no. 1 past the Bielefelder lodge DAV & the Heustadl (hay barn) until you reach the "permanent race run".

The run no. 2 is located to the north of the Brunnenkopf upper station, the run below the "Rosskopf" is very diverse. You can access from this point either the base station of the Brunnenkopf lift or alternatively the Hochoetz panorama restaurant!

No. 3: Across into the idyllic Balbachtal

This ski route is the connection to the Balbachtal and leads from there also back to the Brunnenkopf area. From the upper station of the "Mohrenkopf" chair lift you can access "Acherkogel" upper station with its 8 person cable car or reach the Hochoetz panorama restaurant.

No. 4: Family paradise Kuehtaile

This is the "One" - the wonderful and much loved family route in the skiing resort of Hochoetz in the Oetztal! Suitable for any skier and the outstanding panoramic view alone is a real pleasure. The route goes past the Kuehtaile mountain pasture to the 3 person chair lift "Kuehtaile".

No. 5: Down to midway station at Acherkogel

"Wiesberg" is how the locals call this connection to the former midway station. The run is marked red and is diverse and offers sun bathed runs. The total run is about 5 km long and is snowed artificially since winter 2007/2008. Past the "Jausenstation Schoenblick" the 2 person chair lift brings you back. Since the 2 person chair lift has gained considerably in popularity since the run no. 5 is snowed artificially, the chairs have now been padded more comfortably.

No. 6:

The slighly different (and very easy) option to get to the Balbachtal. The platter lift might be a trip to yesteryears for many, but since we see ourselves as a family friendly skiing resort we are happy to oblige to the requirements of children and beginners. This run is absolutely "easy".

No. 7: From Kuehtaile to the Balbachtal

A varied run for all ages and abilities. The connection from the upper station of the Kuehtaile lift to the Balbachtal is for many of our skiing experts rather unspectacular but it is exceedingly family friendly!

No. 8: The "Black Run" at the Mohrenkopf

This is the most demanding run in the Hochoetz skiing resort. From the Mohrenkopf upper station and back to the Balbachtal. Very black, for people with strong thighs and only suitable for very experienced skiers!

No. 9: The sunny paradise at the Balbach

You should never miss this run! From the upper station of the Balbach chair lift down to the base station. Much sun and wide runs, something for everyone!

No. 10: From Oetztal towards the Stubaital

The valley run to Ochsengarten! In the first section you are on the run no. 5 then you turn to the right and enjoy the 3.65 km long run to Ochsengarten. Despite the red marking this run is still very family friendly and the view alone is always worth it. At the Ochsengarten lift base station you will find Ottos Einkehr (restaurant) and you can take the 4 person cable car from Ochsengarten to get back to the slopes.

No. 11: Around the Balbach mountain pastures

From the "Balbach" chair lift you can reach via the Balbach mountain pasture the base station or the Mohrenkopf chair lift.
