Magnificent walking country in the Ötz valley beckons you.
The modern panoramic Acherkogel cable car whisks you straight up from Ötz, the capital of the Ötz valley in the Tyrol, to the Hochoetz alpine region in less than 8 minutes. There, at well over 2,000 metres and a long, long way from the cares of everyday life, the impressive majestic peaks of the Stubai and Ötztal Alps, breathtaking panoramic views, peaceful meadows and cosy restful mountain retreats await you ... tranquility as far as the eye can see. Easy forest trails lead you to the Acherberg, Balbach or Kühtaile Alps, or you can embark on a testing mountain walk with the whole family. You can enjoy the day on the sun terrace of the Panorama Restaurant, explore the mountains, relive the old mining history of the miners‘ trail or meditate your way along the meditation trail. And here, of course, lofty 3,000 metre peaks beckon, the Acherkogel, the Hoher Wasserfall and the Sulzkogel, challenging rock faces for climbing and extensive high alpine walks. Close to the Panorama Restaurant by the upper station of the Acherkogel cable car, there is an entertaining children‘s playground. And for pedalling enthusiasts there are mountain bike tracks that really get the heart beating harder –right above the valley, along trails offering varying degrees of difficulty in the Hochoetz alpine region. In whatever way you enjoy these imposing mountains between Ötz and Kühtai – whether in a classically leisurely way in knee breeches, swinging your Nordic walking sticks like a sportsman or sweating away on your mountain bike- your experiences will make a lasting and unforgettable impression.
